Colour Identity Wheel – Giving Colour a Clear Identity

The Colour Identity Wheel makes visible what ATLAS Clarus documents precisely in the background: colour is not treated merely as an RGB, Lab or CMYK value, but is linked to a unique atlas identity.

Each referenced colour receives a fixed atlas_row_id. This identity remains preserved as a traceable reference, regardless of which ICC profile, substrate or printing condition is later used for production output.

This creates a clear distinction between the identity of a colour and its technically achievable output.

The Colour Identity Wheel provides an intuitive visual overview of these relationships. Colour groups, relationships and referenced colours can be understood more quickly, while the underlying atlas data provides a documented and traceable basis for colour decisions.

The key advantage: changing an ICC profile changes the production values – not automatically the documented identity of the colour.

This helps ATLAS Clarus support more consistent workflows, simplify coordination and make colour decisions easier to trace across different production conditions.

Don’t just see your colours – give them a traceable identity. Explore the Colour Identity Wheel with your own colour data.
